Derek Brogdon, LPC

Derek Brogdon, M.A., LPC and National Certified Counselor was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and attended Tom C Clark High School. He received his BA in Psychology with Minor in Music from the University of Texas at San Antonio and went on to obtain his Master of Arts in Community Counseling from the same school. He is a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and plans to continue his education and practice in pursuit of a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He completed his practicum studies at the Community Family Life Center located in San Antonio Texas, and his internship at Enlightened Behavioral Health Systems (also in San Antonio). After graduating, Mr. Brogdon worked as a field-based Clinical Practitioner for the Center for Healthcare Services which involved providing services to clients in their homes around Bexar County.

 

Mr. Brogdon’s goal in counseling is to assist families and individuals in their paths to healthier and more fulfilling lives. He has an extensive history working with issues of abuse, substance abuse, severe mental health diagnoses (Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Depression), family problems, self-esteem, and anxiety. He believes in an eclectic approach to counseling and employs either brief or insight-based techniques based on his client’s needs and goals.
